JUNIOR 5’11”

At least twice a week, junior Reece Taylor drives to SpareZ in Davie for practices and matches. As a dedicated member of the Bay’s new bowling team, Taylor said that he is proud of how the season has played out so far, even breaking his personal record of 127 before the county competition on October 8.
“I just want to say that we are the most competitive team that there is. It does not matter who we are playing. We have more heart, more competitiveness and a better connection than any other team here does; we are here to win in all and go to states.”
Taylor’s commitment to bowling is matched only by his academic prowess and inspirations. Balancing Advanced Placement courses with his newly adopted sport, Taylor said he does not allow academics to affect his play.
“I joined to show off my skills and to help bring a ring to the first year team. The thing that motivates me as an athlete is working to improve and learn from my mistakes and my biggest inspiration in life is Derek Jeter. He started from the bottom and worked his way to becoming a hall of famer sort of in the way where I started bowling this year and have been improving and working my way to the top ever since.”
