For the past five years, sophomore Jake Bass has been making a name for himself on the football field. Crediting his motivation to his father and former NFL linebacker Luke Kuchly, he made varsity in his freshman year. Bass said despite any mishaps of the season, he believes in his team.

“I feel like we can bring [this season] back, the score really does not mean anything.”

This year, Bass has been given more opportunities on the field. With 32 total tackles for the season so far, he is becoming a more consistent contributor to the Bay’s defense. Statistics aside, Bass said that above all, he values his team.

“[The Bay’s football team] is a great place. I love the coaches; I love the football team. Football is just my sport, you know?”
