Freshman Aaden Rodrigues has only begun his high school football career, but as a first-year varsity athlete, he has already set his sights on recruitment from Florida State University (FSU) and a future in the NFL. Rodrigues said that while he is still at the Bay, he aims for captaincy.

“I was team captain for my middle school’s flag football team, so I have experience being a leader. Even though I am not captain this year, I help guide the JV team into wins since I also have experience with varsity,” Rodrigues said. “I am still learning lots from the upperclassmen, and I hope to be captain someday.”

Rodrigues said he can rely on his family and friends when dealing with tough losses but is a frequent gymgoer to stay ahead of the competition. He trains daily to support both the varsity and junior varsity teams as well as further his own athletic career.

“I love that football lets me express myself in so many different ways. When I am on the field, I forget about everything else in my life. I have also met so many of my best friends through football, and I have learned so many things from them and my coaches.”
