JV FOOTBALL
DEFENSIVE BACK #15
FRESHMAN 57

Heading into the 2025 school year, freshman Diego Brito had never played on a football team before. Encouragement from a friend led him to try out for the team, and despite his inexperience, Brito secured himself as a defensive back for the Bay’s junior varsity team.

“I never really had a background in football until my friend Aaden on the team told me I should do it this year, and I really liked it,” Brito said. “I started working really hard and found confidence in myself on the field. I am very proud of my improvement, but the job is not finished.”

Brito credits Coach Andrew Volmar for his growth and motivation as a player, especially as he prepares to take on more important roles in his sophomore season. He said he sees room for improvement in both him and the team and that one of his main goals is to become a starting player on the varsity team.

“My goal is to move on to bigger things like finding myself on the field with varsity teammates in the future and working hard this offseason to be successful next year,” Brito said. “I mainly just want to see bigger improvements from myself and from my team. I am very excited for my future at the Bay. Next year, our players and coaches vow to do whatever it takes to get a win and to work day and night during the offseason.”
