Inspired by a mix of both his Argentinian heritage and his father, Senior Lorenzo Abbiati joined the Bay’s Varsity soccer team his junior year. With this motivation and a current point total of 34 for the season, Abbiati has begun considering soccer beyond high school, remaining undecided with thoughts of playing out-of-state.

“My dad taught me how to play and has always guided me on how to play better,” Abbiati said. “Him always being there for me and constantly pushing me to become a better player is what motivated me to continue playing.”

Abbiati constantly aims to improve as both a player and a teammate, which includes having a consistent routine of activity and good nutrition. With preparation, time and a team he calls family, Abbiati said that one of his biggest achievements is playing a part on the team that reached number one on the national rankings for high school soccer.

“I could have never imagined how much I would grow as a person and as a player since I made the team. As a player I have become much better, and my performances have improved drastically now in my senior year compared to my junior year,” Abbiati said. “As a person I have learned how to be a leader and a role model for the underclassmen who look for someone to guide them.”
