DEFENSE #17
SOPHOMORE 5’4″

Sophomore Ana Sofia Marin, started her first season of varsity girls lacrosse in the fall. After hearing her friends speak highly of the sport and team, Marin said she felt motivated to join as well. As a beginner in lacrosse, Marin said that she set goals for herself and what she wants to achieve in the future.

“My ultimate goal in high school when it comes to lacrosse is to become almost an expert at defending my attackers,” Marin said. “I want to become as involved in this sport as possible and perhaps in the future become captain of the team.”

Marin said that it was her teammates’ support through her first season of lacrosse that allowed her to feel welcome in the new environment and find confidence to play. With all the teamwork and how united the team is, they have been able to win every game so far. The Bay won their first game of the season 17-0 against Pompano Beach High School as well as their most recent game versus South Plantation High School with a score of 21-1.

“My biggest supporters are definitely my teammates. In the very short time that I have known them, they have welcomed me with open arms onto the team,” Marin said. “They push me to get better every single day and I do not know if I would have made the progress I have without them.
