JUNIOR 5’10
Junior Dmitrii Berezin has been running cross country since 6th grade, and he said that nothing is slowing him down on his journey. Berezin said he was originally motivated to join the Bay’s cross country team from his prior experience, and has now developed a deep passion for his team and sport.
“The most important things that I have learned are to enjoy the little moments and support others with unwavering compassion,” Berezin said. “Being part of the cross country team has changed aspects of my life because it has shown me how determination and teamwork can lead to success and a fun adventure along the way. Furthermore, I have created memories with my team that will stay with me forever.”
In addition to his love for running, Berezin said that being a part of the cross country team changed aspects of his life for the better. From learning life lessons to meeting new people and trying new things, he said that being a part of a sport like this can help clarify aspects in life relating to his self identity.
“By focusing on the little moments, you can learn a lot about yourself and how you can have a positive impact on those around you,” Berezin said. “By showing compassion towards others, you can build meaningful relationships that are based on love and understanding.”
